For new Americans and others whose first language is not English, the library
provides ESOL: English for Speakers of Other Languages, free lessons in English,
taught by certified and experienced teachers.
The library also offers ESOL conversation groups led by specially trained volunteers.
ESOL classes and ESOL conversation groups are held at Central Library and at
several branches throughout the BPL system.
This is a workshop offered at the Central Library Learning Center for new English speakers who would like to learn to use computers.
